Commented Issue: Get error message while following demo video 3 - Task Creation

I've duplicated the problem on 2 separate dev servers, 1 is a x64 moss and the other is an x86 moss install. I follow the Task creation video without any issues up until the point i try to edit my task after the workflow has been initiated on a list item. I get the error " The control with ID 'FormPlaceHolder' requires content". I have watched the video over and over and can't find anything that i have incorrectly done to cause this issue. I can view the task, but i just can't edit the task. The feature is correctly installed, the path is being referenced in the _layouts/WSS3Workflow/TaskFormHost.aspx as it should. I've uploaded the project, can you help me out and let me know what the heck i'm doing wrong?

Also, i really just want to create tasks from custom content types, when will the next demo video come out concerning the topic of task creation from custom content types? Thanks...i really like this product...prob will save me years off my life with workflow dev... =)

Sorry it took so long, I just noticed this entry. I'd suggest you take a look at the demo and compare the format of the task form metadata in your code with the demo code. The error you're getting is caused when the metadata defined in the workflow.xml file doesn't match what is needed.

When I set the toolbar type to "No toolbar" in the webpart everything is ok. So it looks like the problem is related to the toolbar and the bulk task button.

Hmm. After some debugging I notice something strange. With an x86 build running on my x64 machine I get the error. Running the x64 build on my x64 build --> no error. Our DLL is not architecture sensitive being MSIL.
Some more debugging to do.

Does anyone have any idea how to add more functionality to the time card
template? I want the timecard to replace manual hours input from uses instead
of punchin and punch out and keep the remaining functionality intact.

Is there anyway I could customize the time card template to do this?

I would appreciate any suggestions, guides, articles, or books.

The error was caused when the listid query string parameter wasn't found. The solution was to check for the query string parameter and if it was not found, assume the control is in a list view web part. The ListViewWebPart was found by traversing the parent controls and the list id was retrieved from it.

When I associate my workflow with a library to get the "Start this workflow to approve publishing a major version of an item. ", the option is enabled but when I select it, the setting is not saved when I have an association form. However, if I have no association form, the "Start this workflow to approve publishing a major version of an item. " will be working.

my workflow.xml file includes the InitiationType element
<InitiationType>Manual;#OnNewItem;#OnItemUpdate;#OnMajorCheckIn</InitiationType>

ps. The <InitiationType> is not recognized by WSS3 Workflow. Don't think it'll do anything for our tools.

I believe this is fixed in the current checkin. More testing should be done to verify all the combinations of new associations are covered correctly.

Created Issue: TasksForms fail when no DueDate provided

If no DueDate is provided for a task, the task page fails. It looks like it's an issue with the MetaData for the task.

Perhaps the solution is to make the DateTime value for DueDate a DateTime? value and handle the case with no due date.

Closed Issue: ConfigurationData class name is not correct

When the data class file is created for a configuration control, the name of the class is, for example, WorkflowConfigurationDataData. However the name of the file is WorkflowConfigurationData.cs.
When the class is used in the configuration control, it is referenced as WorkflowConfigurationData and not WorkflowConfigurationDataData.

If you create a new workflow association on a Content Type, the task list is created with the GUID instead of the name.

This is most likely a bug in the Association Page's code behind.
